UIとQoL(利便性)の失敗

CBT3 introduced paid monetization, stamina refreshes, and the full end-game loop, allowing testers to evaluate how the game’s systems hold up over an extended gameplay cycle. While Manjuu addressed several major structural complaints from CBT2, Lunmta’s overall verdict on the current state of CBT3 is straightforward: **the underlying numerical balance has completely broken down**, creating massive divides between viable and unplayable playstyles.
Here is the full breakdown of how character kits, combat mechanics, world progression, and monetization function in the current build according to his testing.
# 1. Combat Balance: The “Overlimit” Divide and Broken Archetypes
In CBT2, team building revolved around two clear pillars: Eruption/Destruction burst comps and Overlimit reaction comps. Lunmta notes that in CBT3, that balance has completely collapsed.
# Overlimit Completely Invalidates Direct Damage
* **The Overlimit Monopoly:** Reaction carries scale with elemental damage, Attunement Intensity, and newly added Overlimit Crit multipliers. Crucially, Overlimit completely bypasses enemy toughness/poise bars and does not require high talent levels to output massive damage. Lunmta observed that even an unoptimized Overlimit team easily deals more than double the damage of an invested raw-damage carry.
* **Direct Damage is a Trap:** Traditional carries tuned around raw ATK and Crit (like Shalle or PeiPei) are in an unplayable spot without maxed-out late-game gold gear and heavily invested dedicated buffers.
# The “Destruction” (Stance Break) Archetype is Broken
In CBT2, Destruction units felt underwhelming because carries could break boss poise on their own. Manjuu attempted to fix this in CBT3 by drastically inflating boss toughness bars, which Lunmta states made the role feel significantly worse to play:
* In the early-to-mid game, Destruction characters lack the break efficiency to shatter bars in a reasonable timeframe.
* They demand huge amounts of on-field time, eating into the main DPS window.
* Their gear sets stack redundant “Toughness Break” stats rather than offensive stats, leaving them with practically non-existent personal damage.
* They completely lack stagger resistance. Because CBT3 bosses are hyperactive, Destruction units constantly get knocked out of their long channeling animations.
* Co-op attacks and guarding actively interrupt the main carry’s combo inputs (cancelling derivation strings on units like Xiaoyu and Shalle).
# Chaotic Buff Timers vs. Boss Invulnerability
Buff durations across supports are completely unstandardized, jumping randomly between **8s, 10s, 15s, and 24s**. Because bosses constantly enter invulnerability states, jump out of reach, or trigger unskippable cinematics, Lunmta points out that short 8–10 second buffs regularly expire while you are simply dodging attacks or waiting for the boss to land.
# Rotation Energy Starvation
Most carries cannot cycle their Ultimate consistently on their own. As Lunmta highlights, the entire combat energy economy is artificially propped up by a single item: the **MC’s Signature Anima (Echo)**. This piece refunds 3.5–4 energy whenever a Mark is generated or consumed (granting 16–20 flat energy in a 5-mark cycle). If a team comp cannot abuse this specific Mark-refund mechanic, its rotations completely stall out.
# 2. Character-by-Character Breakdown
# Amplification & Imbuement (Supports & Enablers)
* **Kataru (Earth/Fire – Amplification) —** ***Overtuned 4★ Standout***
* Built with an Energy set, the Water DEF scaling manual, and her signature weapon, Lunmta calculates that a maxed Kataru provides a **~100% total damage amplification ceiling**.
* Her Shield scales off **400% DEF** (lasts 24s; becomes **permanent until broken** at Chord 1).
* The shield raises the active character’s **Stagger Resistance Tier**, giving carries genuine Super Armor.
* Consuming Earth/Fire Marks with her Skill grants a teamwide ATK steroid equal to **50% of her TOTAL DEF** (base + green bonus stats combined), while increasing enemy damage taken by **30% for 24 seconds**.
* Lunmta bluntly calls Kataru “disgustingly broken” and believes she will inevitably be nerfed before launch, as her numbers completely invalidate almost every 5-star support in the game.
* **Anaïs (Light/Earth – Imbuement) —** ***The 4★ Benchmark***
* Press her Skill once to grant the entire team a **flat 30% ATK buff for 24 seconds** (with C1). Lunmta notes that she completely embarrasses 5-star supports with her zero-setup reliability.
* **Han (Fire/Nature – Amplification) —** ***S-Tier Fire Mark Engine***
* The premier Fire battery: Skill gives 2 marks, Ult gives up to 3, and Chord 2 adds an extra Skill charge (easily cycling 5 Fire Marks per rotation).
* Packs long-lasting 24-second buffs: stacks 36% team Overlimit Amp, gives a swappable 24% Overlimit Amp (15s), and grants 10% Fire DMG. Lunmta notes she is simply waiting for a true 5★ Fire Overlimit carry (such as Sigrid) to maximize her value.
* **MC “Starborn” (Neutral – Amplification) —** ***Top Universal Fast-Swap Buffer***
* A fast 12-second Skill cooldown makes the MC the smoothest quickswap buffer in the game.
* Provides 10% DEF ignore, flat ATK buffs, and a 30% All-Elemental DMG bonus (+15% team DMG at C6). Highly synergistic with the signature energy Anima.
* **Mitty (Thunder – Amplification) —** ***Morwyn’s Mandatory Lifeline***
* Consistently generates 5+ Thunder Marks per rotation. While clunky to handle and prone to interrupts during Heavy Attacks, Chord 4 fixes her rotation flow. Lunmta considers her an absolute requirement if running Morwyn.
* **Pengpeng (Fire – Eruption) —** ***The +96% Charged Attack Anomaly***
* Reworked from a carry into a dedicated Charged Attack buffer. Her 4th normal hit grants 48% Heavy ATK DMG, and **Chord 1 (C1) doubles this to a staggering +96%**.
* Lunmta notes that if a carry relies on Heavy Attacks (PeiPei, Shalle), C1 Pengpeng is mathematically mandatory. Outside of this single buff, her personal damage is zero, her Ult takes forever to charge, and she gets knocked out of attack strings constantly.
* **Maple (Light/Nature – Amplification)**
* Features minor grouping and Light Overlimit buffs (solid at C6). However, Lunmta points out that Xiaoyu is starved for Wind marks, not Light marks, leaving Maple without an optimal team home for now.
* **Lan Xiangzi (Dark/Ice – Amplification)**
* Produces Dark and Ice marks, but the only existing consumer in CBT3 is Cathbelle (a Destruction unit). Lunmta observed severe energy starvation on her; without her Ultimate active, her utility drops to zero.
* **Lily (Wind – Amplification) —** ***A Total Failure***
* Lunmta describes Lily as completely ruined. Base buff values are negligible, and their duration is a miserable **10 seconds**, with almost all real utility locked behind Chords. He noted that her defensive parry/shield gimmick is useless against strict Abyss timers where raw DPS is the only metric that matters.
* **Metsa (Nature/Wind – Imbuement) —** ***Baffling 5-Star Design***
* Her entire kit amounts to a ~15% dual-element buff and a 20% DEF shred (totalling sub-40% effective amplification). Lunmta states that current Energy Recharge mechanics make sustaining her Ultimate impossible, forcing players to waste time manually scooping up seeds with Heavy Attacks.
* **Luruka (Water/Ice – Imbuement) —** ***Outdated Kit***
* Grants small Crit Rate (+10%) and Crit DMG (+20%) buffs that heavily dilute on late-game gear. Worse, her core energy generation (5 energy on heal) is locked behind **Chord 2 (C2)**.
# Assault & Eruption (Main Carries)
* **Xiaoyu (Wind/Light – Assault) —** ***High Floor, Extremely Rigid***
* Features massive piercing AoE and instant damage delivery, dominating mob rooms and clearing the beta Abyss (which features custom stage buffs specifically favoring Wind).
* **The Problem:** Lunmta emphasizes that her rotations are completely rigid—swapping out early cancels her fan stance entirely. She is also heavily starved for Wind Marks due to the lack of a proper 5★ Wind buffer; her C2 and C6 exist largely to artificially generate marks out of thin air. At low investment (0+1), her baseline damage is roughly equal to Morwyn’s.
* **Morwyn (Thunder/Wind – Assault) —** ***The Standard Banner Winner***
* Unlike Xiaoyu, Morwyn allows hot-swapping mid-combo to battery energy and marks without losing her offensive stance.
* Her poise issues were fixed after CBT2. While she is permanently glued to Mitty and has narrower hitboxes than Xiaoyu, Lunmta considers her to have a vastly higher skill ceiling and dynamic team rotation.
* **Ruby (Fire/Thunder – Assault) —** ***Play Overlimit or Don’t Play Her***
* Has smooth combat strings and built-in grouping on her Ultimate.
* **Build Trap:** Lunmta warns never to build her as a Direct DMG or Thunder hybrid carry. Her secondary Thunder scaling deals roughly one-third the damage of her primary Fire. Stack pure Fire Overlimit. She also benefits heavily from CBT3’s overtuned Fire Kibos (Fire Bull / Fire Beetle).
* **Terara (Fire/Wind – Assault)**
* The premier 4★ budget carry. Pure Fire Overlimit scaling combined with Han’s massive mark production allows her to clear endgame Abyss floors with minimal investment.
* **PeiPei (Earth/Light – Eruption)**
* Has monstrous theoretical multipliers and very low Ultimate dependency, but Lunmta observed she is completely suppressed by the current anti-Direct-Damage meta.
* **Shalle (Water/Light – Eruption) —** ***Completely Gutted***
* Lunmta notes that Shalle fell off completely compared to CBT2. She is entirely dependent on her Ultimate, yet suffers from brutal energy starvation. Without maxed endgame gear, her damage is negligible, and without stagger resistance, poise-immune Abyss mobs knock her out of attack strings constantly.
* **Symphoria (Wind/Nature – Eruption)**
* Reworked into an Overlimit consumer, but consumes marks at an agonizingly slow pace (one mark per Heavy Attack). Lunmta points out she clears content purely because the beta Abyss environment is artificially tailored to Wind.
# Destruction (Stance Breakers) — The Broken Archetype
* **Cathbelle (Thunder/Dark):** The only functional Destruction character, solely because she can animation-cancel into co-op attacks and possesses innate Overlimit scaling.
* **Abby (Water/Nature):** Near-zero personal damage. Channels a long water stream that gets interrupted by a single enemy tap; stagger resistance is locked behind C1. Lunmta described her gameplay experience as utterly miserable.
* **Faridah (Wind/Thunder):** Dubbed the “3-star character” by testers due to bloated on-field time, poor break efficiency, and lack of team utility.
* **Nono (Earth/Nature):** Generic 4★ unit plagued by the same baseline failure as the rest of the Destruction class.
# 3. Progression, Gear Crafting, and the Kibo System
Key Systemic Changes from CBT2 to CBT3:
[Character Dupes] CBT2: Predatory Shard Grids (0-3) ──► CBT3: REMOVED (Standard XP & Ascension)
[Gear Acquisition] CBT2: Pure Dungeon Drop RNG ──► CBT3: Base Gear Moved to Homestead Crafting
[Kibo Breeding] CBT2: High Base Stat RNG ──► CBT3: Deterministic Stat Fruits (Echo Gated)
# The Good: Character Shard Dupes Removed & Deterministic Gear
* **Duplicate Shards Scrapped:** Manjuu removed the 0~3 duplicate character shard system from CBT2. Characters now level via standard XP and materials, freeing up daily stamina.
* **Homestead Gear Crafting:** Gear acquisition is decoupled from stamina dungeons and moved to Homestead workstations. Gear pieces retain **fixed substats** and non-regressive tuning scores. Lunmta notes a base +15 set is more than enough to clear Floor 7 of Abyss.
# The Bad: Material Grinding & Kibo Skill Gating
* **Overworld Mob Chores:** While gear crafting uses passive Homestead materials, forging and upgrading Gold Gear is aggressively bottlenecked by **Elemental Particles** (drop from wild mobs) and **Fleece**. Lunmta notes that without hours of manual overworld mob farming, mass-producing Gold Gear in the Homestead is impossible.
* **The “Echo” Gate on Kibos:** Stat training on Kibos is now deterministic thanks to stat fruits, with the only real RNG being “Shiny” Prismatic Traits. However, Kibo skill upgrades now consume massive quantities of **Echo Shards**. Weekly limited boss Kibos (like Amartia) have absurdly inflated material requirements that Lunmta criticizes as a terrible, endless time-gate.
* **Combat Capture Ruined:** Manjuu removed the time-stop mechanic when capturing wild Kibos in combat. Lunmta found trying to catch a Kibo in real-time during an active combat encounter feels terrible, especially when “Friendly Dumplings” only last 30 seconds and the quick-eat hotkey is inexplicably mapped to CapsLock.
* **Star-Bonding Card Trap:** Purple capture cards are handed out generously in the early game, but capture difficulty spikes violently in Fleece. Players who spend their purple cards early find themselves unable to catch higher-level Kibos later on.
# 4. Open-World Friction, UI Disasters, and Technical Issues
# The Exploration Loop
Lunmta stated that the open-world exploration features some of the worst labor-to-reward ratios among modern 3D anime titles:
* **Puzzle Bloat:** The map is littered with non-scaling scarecrow defense mini-games, clunky chicken transformations, rhythm games with broken tempo mapping, and bowling puzzles where upright barrel bounces fail to register.
* **Archaic Compass:** The navigation tool remains a **single-use consumable item** with flawed pathfinding that frequently points to incorrect elevations.
* **Map Design Disparity:** The starting area, Spore Valley, has poor layout density and sparse waypoints compared to the later Fleece region, making the early game feel like an agonizing slog.
# UI & Quality of Life Failures
* **Kibo Info Screen:** You still cannot view a Kibo’s skills directly from its summary screen—it only displays the 6-stat radar chart and the feeding menu.
* **Menu Navigation:** Hitting “Back” in the Chord screen kicks you completely out of the character menu.
* **Hidden Interfaces:** The logout button is buried inside secondary sub-menus, the Friend list is mapped under the “Enter” key, and remaining Stamina can only be checked by navigating into the Commission board.
* **Homestead Inconvenience:** Secondary crafting recipes disable the quick-craft button, and the Homestead hub has no hotkey in the overworld despite having one inside the base itself.
* **Kibo Storage:** The Kibo House lacks bulk-sorting tools, forcing players to squint at low-resolution pixel sprites to locate specific specimens.
# Performance & Optimization
Despite moderate hardware resource consumption, Lunmta observed persistent micro-stuttering and severe frame drops. Anti-aliasing implementation is broken, resulting in jagged edges across all resolutions, and particle-dense areas (like Suya) cause massive performance degradation.
# 5. Monetization & The Deceptive Gacha Curve
# Cosmetic Pricing
* **High-Tier Character Skins (168 RMB / ~$24 USD):** Feature zero custom skill effects, aggressive accessory clutter, and questionable aesthetics (e.g., Tushan Xiaoyu’s bunny suit).
* **MC Skins (88 RMB / ~$12.50 USD):** Lack dyeing functionality—worse, basic outfit dyeing from previous tests was removed.
* **Dormitory Packs (128 RMB / ~$18 USD):** Lunmta criticized this as overly confident pricing for bare-bones rooms with minimal character interaction and conservative fanservice.
# Why the Gacha Math is Deceptive
On paper, *Promilia* lists an expected cost of **~98.02 pulls for a 0+1** character, which technically looks cheaper than games like *Neverness to Evergarden* (98.52 pulls) or *Arknights: Endfield*.
However, Lunmta argues that this numerical comparison is a deceptive mirage:
1. **Other Games Provide Cost-Cutting Mechanics:** Titles like *Endfield* or *NTE* allow players to farm, downgrade, or obtain signature weapons through in-game progression and hand out massive pull counts. *Promilia* provides zero mechanisms to cut weapon costs.
2. **The 90 Hard Pity Trap:** The pull rate begins at **0.8%** and increases by a flat **+0.15% per pull**, staying flat all the way until an abrupt **vertical jump to 100% on pull 89–90**. Because there is no meaningful soft-pity acceleration in the mid-range (pulls 65–80), **over 33% of players are mathematically forced to hit the exact 90-pull hard pity ceiling**.
As Lunmta summarizes: even if the calculated EV appears slightly lower on a spreadsheet, trapping one out of every three players into a 90 hard pity while forcing them through an unrewarding map economy makes the pulling experience feel significantly worse than its competitors.
# Lunmta’s Verdict on CBT3
In Lunmta’s assessment, while Manjuu proved they can listen by removing the duplicate shard grids and implementing deterministic gear crafting, **the game simply cannot launch in this numerical state**.
For the game to be viable at release, Lunmta stresses that Manjuu must address several critical issues:
1. **The Overlimit vs. Direct Damage disparity must be flattened** so non-reaction carries are not dead on arrival.
2. **The Destruction class requires a complete functional overhaul** to provide off-field break or massive team damage vulnerability.
3. **Buff timers must be standardized to 20–24 seconds** so player rotations do not collapse during boss invulnerability transitions.
4. **The gacha probability curve needs to be smoothed out** to distribute pulls naturally in the 70s rather than dumping over a third of the player base onto the 90 hard-pity floor.
5. **Open-world filler bloat must be stripped back**, and the single-use consumable compass needs to be replaced with an active radar system.
* **Kataru (Earth/Fire – Amplification) —** ***Overtuned 4★ Standout***
* **Anaïs (Light/Earth – Imbuement) —** ***The 4★ Benchmark***
* Press her Skill once to grant the entire team a **flat 30% ATK buff for 24 seconds** (with C1). Lunmta notes that she completely embarrasses 5-star supports with her zero-setup reliability.
* **Han (Fire/Nature – Amplification) —** ***S-Tier Fire Mark Engine***
* **Mitty (Thunder – Amplification) —** ***Morwyn’s Mandatory Lifeline***
* **Maple (Light/Nature – Amplification)**
* Features minor grouping and Light Overlimit buffs (solid at C6). However, Lunmta points out that Xiaoyu is starved for Wind marks, not Light marks, leaving Maple without an optimal team home for now.
* **Lan Xiangzi (Dark/Ice – Amplification)**
* Produces Dark and Ice marks, but the only existing consumer in CBT3 is Cathbelle (a Destruction unit). Lunmta observed severe energy starvation on her; without her Ultimate active, her utility drops to zero.
* **Lily (Wind – Amplification) —** ***A Total Failure***
* **Metsa (Nature/Wind – Imbuement) —** ***Baffling 5-Star Design***
* **Luruka (Water/Ice – Imbuement) —** ***Outdated Kit***
* **Ruby (Fire/Thunder – Assault) —** ***Play Overlimit or Don’t Play Her***
* Has smooth combat strings and built-in grouping on her Ultimate.
* **Terara (Fire/Wind – Assault)**
* The premier 4★ budget carry. Pure Fire Overlimit scaling combined with Han’s massive mark production allows her to clear endgame Abyss floors with minimal investment.
* **PeiPei (Earth/Light – Eruption)**
* Has monstrous theoretical multipliers and very low Ultimate dependency, but Lunmta observed she is completely suppressed by the current anti-Direct-Damage meta.
* **Shalle (Water/Light – Eruption) —** ***Completely Gutted***
* **Symphoria (Wind/Nature – Eruption)**

# 4. Open-World Friction, UI Disasters, and Technical Issues
# The Exploration Loop
Lunmta stated that the open-world exploration features some of the worst labor-to-reward ratios among modern 3D anime titles:

* **Homestead Inconvenience:** Secondary crafting recipes disable the quick-craft button, and the Homestead hub has no hotkey in the overworld despite having one inside the base itself.
* **Kibo Storage:** The Kibo House lacks bulk-sorting tools, forcing players to squint at low-resolution pixel sprites to locate specific specimens.
# Performance & Optimization
Despite moderate hardware resource consumption, Lunmta observed persistent micro-stuttering and severe frame drops. Anti-aliasing implementation is broken, resulting in jagged edges across all resolutions, and particle-dense areas (like Suya) cause massive performance degradation.
# 5. Monetization & The Deceptive Gacha Curve
# Cosmetic Pricing
* **High-Tier Character Skins (168 RMB / ~$24 USD):** Feature zero custom skill effects, aggressive accessory clutter, and questionable aesthetics (e.g., Tushan Xiaoyu’s bunny suit).

\> **Buff timers must be standardized to 20–24 seconds** so player rotations do not collapse during boss invulnerability transitions.
Here is the thing. This is 100% true but it is a consequence not the root cause.
Main issue is that bosses have insanely long invincibility (fury state). Take Phantomfly as an exemple. She has 3 hp bars. Every time she loses one she enters fury for ~10 sec where you can only dodge. She can also randomly enter it at random. So per fight you are looking at her entering furry 4-6 times for almost an entire minute where you can not do anything. Rotations will colapse anyway unless they make the buffs last 30+ sec. Remove that bs. Make the boss be extremely aggro and increase its damage during the furry state but no invincibility. Did Genshin and their Maguu Kenki not teach these people anything?? Learn from how ZZZ is handling it.
And here is another thing. They punish you for dodging/parrying. Like sure you don’t take dmg. But the basic attack chain resets. For characters like Xiaoyu that need to do a charge attack into a 5 combo basic this is crippling.
And lastly the stagger is insane. A small mob is gonna knock back your main dps. They either need to tone it down or they need to add super armor to certain long animation skills of characters.

Yeah, back in beta I only used Abby to kickstart Shalle’s charged attack loop. Actually playing her as main felt pretty bad.
Man, if Shalle’s effectiveness is nerfed this bad I’ll probably go with Morwyn as my pick (my favorite char in beta). Morwyn just lets you unga and make up your attack patterns on the fly, easily switching to Mitty anytime if you need marks.

Playing normal content is fine but high level/endgame content is miserable for anyone who needs to stay still or requires long combos. Bosses have a lot of invincible phases and will interrupt you through multiple ways (needing to dodge, moving too fast, or getting knocked out of combo). Even when using Mitty, a ranged character that can move somewhat while charging, I have a hard time landing a fully charged attack because I have to get out of the way so much. If her switch out skill and perfect dodge didn’t have mark gain she’d feel pretty bad to use.

sounds like mostly small stuff and qol. The game is quite ready and just need adjustment and such, which is the purpose of beta.
So late 2026 to early 2027 release is likely i guess.

For this game, I get the impression that a lot of people expect it to be perfect right from the start. Maybe that’s because it took such a long time to get to this stage.
Personally, I think things like numerical balance can continue to be adjusted after launch. And now that pre-registration has already started on Google Play, they need to comply with Google’s rules, so I don’t think another release delay is really an option anymore.

Small caveat: if they decide to nerf characters after launch because numerical balance needs to be adjusted, it might trigger backlash from the community

If this weren’t a big 3d gacha, I’d agree, but it feels likeits always been that if your character releases as dogshit, they will forever be dogshit and nothing will ever be done to fix them beyond some drastic new system like potential upgrades in ZZZ or those witch buff things in Genshin.
I’ve only ever seen smaller gachas regularly do any direct kit or number buffing. I will gladly be wrong if Manjuu proves me wrong and breaks that dumbass awful trend, but the only gachas ive seen do it are also Korean so im just gonna hope they can get it right before launch.

Thanks a lot for this feedback. I’m still hyped for the game, but the skins are a bit of a letdown, not just because they don’t visually alter the abilities, but also because of the “conservative fan service.” I suppose that comes down to personal preference, though…
I’d love for the game to have a 4th CBT, and I wouldn’t mind waiting until late 2027; I’m in no rush. I just want the game to have a great launch that plenty of players can enjoy.

This is exactly what I want from Manjuu though.
